ABOUT ME
Making chainmaille began as a hobby when I discovered I had a knack for creating unusual jewelry out of simple jump rings. I am self-taught and currently have mastered 54 different chainmaille patterns or weaves. I am fascinated by the historical element of chainmaille, which began as life-saving armor for fighters of many cultures worldwide. Always looking to learn something new, this year I've added a new element to my inventory: kumihimo braid jewelry. Like chainmaille, kumihimo (Japanese for 'gathered thread') is steeped in history as the braids were used to fasten everything from a Samurai armor to the tack of his horse.
